Crazy, man. Crazy.

Crazy blocks are so cool - I love how they're so versatile. You can do so many things with a crazy block! I started a quilt a few months ago that's just for me. I have the idea to make crazy blocks in tonals - different patterns and tones of the same color. I've made about 8 so far and I'm still making one or two a week as I pull fabrics from my stash. I love these because there's no measuring (except for the foundation pieces) and little to no cutting.
It's very liberating to have few rules and restrictions when doing a quilt block. But, they can also be very complicated and sophisticated, too. Decorative stitching, adding lace and ribbon, dying fabric, using vintage trims and fabrics - this block can do it all. If you have time - check out a book or two on crazy quilting. You'll be inspired!

All of these blocks are rough - I still have to square them up and press them, but you get the idea of just how fun this block can be.

Love green - so cheerful. And those paisley prints - love them.

I love the stitching on this one.

This one has some decorative stitching on it that I kind of regret. It's done in a pale blue and doesn't show up very well. But I still love this block.
