January Bee Blocks and a Challenge

I finished my January blocks for Michelle at Calico Daisy. She sent us a heap of cuttings from the Meadowsweet line for a wonky log cabin that measuers 14.5"! She asked that we include a lime green and an aqua-ish strip perpendicular to each other somewhere in the block. It turned out cute - although not as wonky as I would have liked...

And for the challenge that I entered - I found it through Stash Manicure {your's truly will be guest blogging on Feb. 3!} and it's run by the ladies at Little Red Hen Quilts.
The rules:
Send your paired partner 2 yards of fabric that they must use to make any size quilt by April 1. 90% of the fabric must be used and you are only permitted to buy 1 cut of fabric. The rest must come from your stash.

So, my partner Sharon from Washington, is a new art quilter and has just started a blog. She sent me a selection of fabrics that I just LOVE!:

Lovely, no?

And I raided my stash and came up with these to use with Sharon's fabrics:

I'm not sure I want to reveal what block I'm doing, but this quilt will be an explosion of color!

I can't wait to show you all how this turns out! And this quilt is just for me. It's mine - not making it for anyone but me. Crazy, huh?

  1. Wow! I LOVE your additions. Can't WAIT....

  2. I LOVE the fabric selections! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are doing something for YOU! Too often we craft to gift or sell... i cant wait to see what comes of that beauty!

  3. Andie, this is going to be so pretty. I'm glad that your experience with this challenge turned out so great. I joined it also, and was sent some....well, to put it nicely...really bad fabric that definitely was not quilt worthy. I sent it back and dropped out!

  4. Those blocks are awesome and I can hardly wait to see what you do with that pile of rainbow you've got goin'!
