~Love~ Pillow For A Dear Friend

My oldest and dearest friend Ali just had a birthday and I wanted to make her a gift that would suit her style and heritage. She's one of the most genuine, most loving and hardest working people I know. She has two precious and hilarious kids and she's currently studying for her clinical psychology doctoral. She has OCD cleaning issues and she loves her some Rolling Stones. I love her and her whole family dearly.

I was inspired by Patch Andi to make this sweet pillow for Ali. Andi is an amazing quilter and artist - she has a great eye for color and her workmanship is flawless. And she's cute as a button. And her name....well.

Ali loves florals and she thinks that I'm the most talented quilter she knows. {She doesn't know that many, so...} I decided to make this pillow and install an invisible zipper to raise the complexity factor to really make her think I know what I'm doing.

I emailed Andi and asked for help with the Hebrew. She emailed me right back and translated the word "LOVE" for me. She even provided the font - so generous of her! I printed it out and got to work with some really lovely Jennifer Paganelli fabric.

Katie from Sew Katie Did has a great tutorial for installing an invisible zipper which is very easy to follow. Zippers are always a little tricky, but with practice, this technique can be easily mastered.

Hebrew for "LOVE"

Love it.
Love, love, love it.
And, most importantly, Ali will love it. Score!
