Summer School

So, I'm going to teach a class at Sewn Studio!
It's an Intro to Sewing for Teens and I'm both excited and nervous - so hoping I do a good job. I think it will be a nice little "job" for me for the summer.

These are the samples for my class. The halter dress is Amy Butler's Sun and Surf Halter shirt that I lengthened to just above the knee to make a sassy little dress. Great pattern and very easy to put together.

The lounge shorts are made from a pattern by The Quilted Closet. This pattern runs really large, but overall I was really pleased with it.

And of course, the fabric is by one of my favorite ladies - Jennifer Paganelli. This line is called Honey Child and let me tell you - it's just so darn lovely to work with.

If you're in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, stop by Sewn Studio in Oakley and meet Stephanie and Julie. Great ladies, great shop and, of course, great fabric!

  1. Very cool! My mom taught sewing years and years ago and I still run in people who have fond memories of her and those classes. You'll be planting in these girls a love of sewing that may stick with them for the rest of their lives. Sounds like fun!!

  2. Andie, you have selected great patterns for the young teens sewing class. I remember my first class many, many years ago in Junior High, I think if we could of sewn something we would like more would have been interested. Best of Luck and so glad to see younger ones sewing.
