About Those WIPs....

So the word is out. I'm co-writing a modern quilting book with my BQFF Kelly Biscopink who is extraordinarily talented and dang hilarious. Kelly and I met through the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild and became fast friends. We have the same weird sense of humor and the same traditional-meets-modern quilting aesthetic. She and I have worked so well together and have discussed furthering our quilting relationship into other projects and more books. Our book will be released in September of 2012. Can't wait to share this book with you all!

So, whilst sewing my heart out in my "sweatshop" for the last 4 months, I've tried to start and finish other projects. I've got some quilt tops that need to be quilted, a stack of finished blocks that need to be pieced and a whole load of pulled stacks of fabrics that I've collected to begin others. My sketchbook is full of ideas and I've been asked by some friends to make quilts for them. All in all, I have a ton of things on my quilting TO DO list.

Some of my WIPs:
Remember this one? Need to quilt this baby. I might try hand quilting it. If I can stand all the handwork.

Japanese X block. Made this one for Amy Lobsiger 's {Mrs. Schmenkman's Quilts} month in out One Block Over Bee. I have all the fabrics pulled for this one and some of the pieces cut, too. Love this block so, so much.

Want to make a bed-size version of this quilt I made for a friend's little one. I LOVE this pattern.

I'm gonna make about 20 more of these for my summer wardrobe. Amy Butler's Halter Shirt that I lengthened into a dress made with Sis Boom fabric.

I think I want to make 2 large throw pillows and cover them with these flowers. I love this little thing and done en masse would be very elegant and feminine. Tutorial for this flower is here

Oh my, I'm worn out just thinking about how much I want to do. And these run a distant second to all of the projects around my house I want to tackle. Painting, slipcovering, bathroom redo-ing.
Oh, and garden planning. And I thought I'd have so much "down time" after I turned in all my book projects. HA!
